Pregnyl® 5000 is an injectable human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) product from Organon. hCG is a hormone that acts like luteinizing hormone (LH), signalling the testes to produce testosterone. It is a prescription fertility medicine and is not an anabolic steroid.
Pregnyl® 5000 contains human chorionic gonadotropin, a glycoprotein hormone normally produced during pregnancy. In men it mimics LH and stimulates the testes to produce testosterone and support sperm production. Medically it is used for hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, certain fertility treatments and undescended testes in boys, and to trigger ovulation in women. In the literature it is mostly discussed for maintaining testicular function during or after hormonal suppression.
Each vial contains 5000 IU of human chorionic gonadotropin as a freeze-dried powder, supplied with a separate solvent for reconstitution. Once mixed, the solution must be kept refrigerated and used within the period stated on the leaflet. Supplied as 1 Vial + 1 ml Solvent.
